«I really enjoyed every minute of it!» says a Norwegian participant about the Dacia meeting for lay dominicans which took place in Oslo November 6 – 9, 2009. People had travelled from Finland, Sweden – and Rome, to take part in the meeting. Saint Dominic’s preaching of grace was the main theme, but an important discussion also took place about the value of lay people’s consecration in the Order.
Dominic was the first itinerant preacher of the dominican Order, characterised by evangelical itinerancy, incarnated in imitating the apostels.
In November 2013 the European Council send the following convocation of the next European Assembly of Lay Dominican Fraternities to all the provinces and vicariates in Europe. It’s the invitation for the assembly.

From 17 – 21 January 2017 an international congress was held on the mission of the Order of Preachers to close the Order’s eighth centenary. More than 600 Dominicans, friars, nuns, sisters and lay Dominicans from all over the world came to Rome for this special congress.
